Just remember that Friends Day is just two weeks away, so get on the ball and start asking all your family and friends to come and celebrate the Word of God with us on Sunday, October 12th! Immediately after our special morning services everyone is invited to our Hog Roast/Pitch In. Let's pack those pews!

Invitation

Sunday, October 5th, during our evening services, we will have a special presentation of this year's mission trip to the Ohio Children's Home. Everyone is invited to come and learn what our mission team was able to accomplish in a week. There will also be a special offering collected. The money collected will go towards the 2009 Mission trip.

Chance Wirey will be leaving for Iraq the end of October. Chance will be leaving his wife (who is expecting in May) and their two small children who will be staying with family in Georgia.

Please be in prayer for the upcoming election of our Elders and Deacons. Ballot forms will be available next Sunday and need to be returned Oct 19th.

There will be a special Youth Event for all 1st through 6th graders and their families on Oct. 12th. They will be leaving from the church about 2:30 p.m. and traveling to Danville to Beasley's Orchard to participate in the Corn Maze. After the corn maze they will return to Doug and Diana Dennis for a wiener roast and a good time. They will bring the youth back to the church at 7:00 p.m. Please bring your family and friends (it will be FRIENDS DAY!) $3 per person for the event, and chairs for the wiener roast. Last call for anyone who would like to participate in this season's Dinner for Eight event. What is Dinner for Eight, you might ask? It is a fun opportunity to meet and get to know others from the church while you get to fill your stomachs with food. You might meet in homes, at the church or at a restaurant. The group will meet at least once a month for about three months. this is open to all ages and includes the entire family. If you are interested in this event, please sign up at the table by the water fountain. If you have any questions, please contact Phyllis Merritt or the church office.
